BABS

BABS was established in 2004 as a collaboration between 4 famous Danish Blonde breeders, namely Erik Poulsen, Knud P. Jørgensen, Thorkild Hviid and Hans Oluf Juhl. Unfortunately, the initiator, Knud P. Jørgensen died in 2016, but BABS activities with the development of polled Blonde dAquitane breeding animals have shown its justification and the cooperation has continued in his spirit.

Blonde d'Aquitaine is a modern and highly productive breed, well-known for its superior traits, whether we talk about the value of the net daily gain, the lean meat or the feed conversion rate. The vision of BABS is to make a superior breed even better by developing homozygotic polled animals on basis of the best and highest indexed breeding material available, and by use of modern breeding techniques.

GG Ninka on the pictures here is dam of GG Ursus, who is sire of the first generation offspring. GG Ninka is an example of the genetic foundation of BABS - the cow, belonging to Sanne and Erik Poulsen, is after Horizon. GG Ninka is big and elegant - it was, as several times before, awarded as the best Blonde d'Aquitaine female at the Danish Landsskuet 2006 fair, where it had a weigt of 1,207 kg.

BABS started with 4 flushings in 2005, which gave 25 calves.
